University Adjustment
Adjusting to university can be difficult. Students may experience discomfort related to:
- First-time exposure to a university
- Classroom etiquette
- Course load
- Study habit
- Time management
- Communication with Faculty member
- Peer relationships
- Language difficulties
- New learning process
Confidentiality:
- The Counseling and Psychological Services at Brac University strictly protects the confidentiality of information shared during and after sessions. All personal details and the contents of the counseling sessions are kept confidential. The counselors adhere to the British Association for Counseling and Psychotherapy (BACP) ethical framework which is available on the BACP website.
- There are some exceptions to these general rules, where for the wellbeing of the client, sometimes it is very necessary to disclose some relevant information to the client’s responsible person. Counselors will only do this if the client agrees that it would be helpful and the client has given written consent to the counselors.
- Following are the exceptions, where with the consent of the client, the counselor may disclose information:
- In instances where there is imminent danger of serious harm to self or others.
